Individual arrival in Locarno – either via the picturesque Gotthard route or the spectacular Centovalli railway. The hotel's shuttle will be waiting for you at Locarno railway station to take you comfortably to Ronco sopra Ascona. After checking in at the Boutique Hotel La Rocca, enjoy a welcome platter of fine Ticino regional cold cuts and cheeses, accompanied by a glass of local wine. In the evening, a culinary highlight awaits you: a tasting menu based on risotto in the hotel's own restaurant, including fine wines and mineral water.
After a delicious breakfast with a view over Lake Maggiore, take the Ticino Ticket and travel free of charge on bus line 316 to Locarno. From there, the cog railway will take you to Orselina, and then the cable car will take you up to Cardada and Cimetta – the viewpoint above Lake Maggiore. Enjoy the panorama from the spectacular viewing platform. If you enjoy hiking, you can walk back (approx. 45 minutes) and have a light lunch at the cosy Ristorante Colmanicchio in Cardada.
In the afternoon, visit Terreni alla Maggia in Ascona – a traditional winery offering tastings of local products. In the evening, head to Losone and Grotto Raffael, where you can enjoy typical Ticino cuisine in an authentic atmosphere.
The return journey is by bus. A short walk takes you back to the hotel – accompanied by a breathtaking view of the lake at night. End the evening in style on the hotel terrace with an espresso or a glass of grappa.
Alternative in case of bad weather or on request: day trip to Lugano or shopping at Foxtown Outlet – Europe's largest designer outlet with over 300 international brands.
After breakfast, the bus will take you to Locarno, where you can catch the Regio Express directly to Milan at 9:22 or 10:22 a.m. You will arrive in the fashion capital at 11:17 or 12:17 p.m. Discover the magnificent Milan Cathedral, the Castello Sforzesco, the famous La Scala and the stylish shopping arcades of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele. In the afternoon, around 4:00 p.m., return to Locarno. (Just in time for dinner at the hotel, where an exclusive 5-course tasting menu awaits you).
After a final leisurely breakfast, you will have the morning free to spend as you wish, depending on your departure time – or the programme will continue individually. After check-out, we will of course take you to Locarno railway station in the hotel's own shuttle bus.
