Mittellandroute - through the Three-Lakes Region to Lake Geneva

Solothurn | Yverdon-les-Bains | Prangins

from CHF 775.00 for 3 nights

Price per person in a double room without bike rental.

The offer is valid from April until the end of October 2024.

Along lakes and rivers, through wide plains and valleys shaped by agriculture. Past picturesque towns and villages that invite you to sample regional specialities and wines. The Mittelland route is probably the most diverse bike tour in Switzerland. Leisurely, with lots of views, mostly on motor vehicle-free paths and without many metres in altitude, you will get from the Mittelland to Lake Geneva in just a few days.

In the most beautiful baroque town in Switzerland

Here in the heart of Solothurn's old town, there is an atmospheric whiff of France in the air. Individual bars and restaurants line the Riviera and invite you to enjoy an aperitif on their terraces. Don't miss the winding streets of the old town with its numerous boutiques and a visit to the mighty and impressive St. Ursen Cathedral. In the evening, you will be treated to an exquisite dinner in several courses at the boutique hotel and restaurant La Couronne.

Always beautifully along the Aare into the Three-Lakes Region

Following the Mittelland route, you cycle from Solothurn along the course of the Aare to Nidau, where you reach Lake Biel. Following the lakeshore, you will reach Lake Neuchâtel via Ins, which will show you the way to your stage destination Yverdon-les-Bains. Combine the tour with a boat trip and shorten the journey time by at least 1h15. In the evening, enjoy a fine multi-course meal in the restaurant La Terasse of the Hotel La Prairie and taste your way through the regional wine list.

Through the Vaudois hills to the "silvery little sea of Switzerland".

You continue along the Mittelland route to La Sarraz - a historic, slightly elevated town with culinary and cultural delights: How about a visit to La Sarraz Castle or a Vaudoise saucisson in one of the charming taverns?  Continuing along the Mittelland route, the silver glitter of Lake Geneva is soon visible. In Denges you change from the Mittelland route to the Rhone route, which takes you to Morges. From here your drive to Prangins takes you through magnificent vineyards of La Côte (AOC) - always with a view of the lake. Why not visit a wine cellar here and there on your easy way to Prangins. Another little paradise on Lake Geneva awaits you here - including cooling off right in front of the house! Enjoy your welcome aperitif on the lakeside terrace of Hotel La Barcarolle and review your bike tour with "Wine & Dine" in the hotel restaurant with a view of the lake.
