Switzerland offers so many beautiful winter destinations. So why not combine two winter sports resorts for once? We make it possible. With the Winter enjoyment offer, you can experience two fantastic winter destinations: Zermatt and Davos Klosters OR Zermatt and St. Moritz Engadin in combination with a train ride on the Glacier Express through Switzerland's winter wonderland - you can't get more winter than that!

2 nights in Zermatt

Individual arrival by public transport to Zermatt. Contact the hotel BEAUSiTE Zermatt****S before your arrival and they will be happy to pick you and your luggage up from the station.  Alpine tradition meets British flair at the hotel. Make yourself comfortable in one of the renovated rooms and enjoy relaxing moments in the wellness area with indoor pool, whirlpool, sauna and steam bath, and now also with heated outdoor infinity pool and hay sauna with a view of the Matterhorn.  In the evening you can indulge yourself in the restaurant ‘The Grill’.

During the next 2 days you will have plenty of time to explore the winter wonderland around Zermatt. Our tips for excursions you can find below.

Our tips for excursions in Zermatt:

  • Winter hiking tip: Furi-Stafel, worthwhile for early risers, as the path is still in the sun in the morning.
  • Sledging fun from Rotenboden down to the Riffelberg - short but crisp!
  • Snowshoe hike from Riffelberg to Rotenboden, with the Matterhorn as the perfect photo subject in the background - tip: down by toboggan!
  • Trip by train to Gornergrat
  • Skiing in the highest ski area in Europe. Tip: Lunch at "Chez Vrony", one of the few restaurants with its own organic products.

Transfer journey with the Glacier Express

On day 3, the time has come: at 08.52 , your journey starts on the world's slowest express train. The journey through the winter wonderland takes around 7 and a half hours. The Glacier Express inspires with technical masterpieces: You pass through numerous tunnels and drive over hundreds of bridges. You will always enjoy the view of unique winter landscapes through the roof-high panorama windows.

On the first section, you drive through the Mattertal valley. Here you can enjoy a fantastic view of numerous 4,000-metre peaks. From Brig, the train continues through the snow-covered Goms and through the Furka tunnel to Andermatt in the canton of Uri. The train climbs leisurely towards the Oberalp Pass. The Rhine rises nearby. Its source is at the small, mystical Tomasee lake at the foot of Piz Badus. The Rhine connects the Alps with the North Sea and is one of the most important rivers in Europe. So it was that, in the spirit of this connection between mountain and sea, the highest lighthouse in the world (2046 metres above sea level) is located on the Oberalp Pass. The next section of the route takes you into the Rhine Gorge. Ruinaulta is what the locals call the monumental gorge between Ilanz and Reichenau in Romansh. The gorge was formed 10,000 years ago by the Flims landslide and today forms a unique natural backdrop: turquoise-green water and rock faces up to 350 metres high.

Lunch: with the experience gastronomy on the Glacier Express you are well looked after. The offer includes a 3-course menu, which is freshly prepared on board and served to your seat.

In the Alpine metropolis of Chur, you have a good quarter of an hour to get a coffee or hot chestnuts for the onward journey - of course, you can also order your coffee at your seat. The journey continues on the UNESCO World Heritage route of the Albula Line: the line has been in existence since 1903 and thus dates back to the time of the railway pioneers. After passing Thusis and Tiefencastel, you will reach the most spectacular railway structure: the Landwasser Viaduct. At 65 metres high and 136 metres long, it impresses with its beauty and boldness - one of the most elegant bridge constructions in Graubünden and the most photographed work of art on the Rhaetian Railway.

The onward journey from here proceeds according to the chosen destination:

Option 1: Onward journey to Davos Platz (exclusive variant).
At 15.41 you reach Filisur, where you change to the train to Davos Platz. You have enough time to change trains, even with luggage, as the train departs at 16.06 hrs. The last stage takes you over the imposing Wiesner Viaduct and through the wildly romantic Zügen Gorge to Davos Platz, the final stop on your train journey today.

Option 2: Onward journey to St.Moritz/Celerina (classic variant)
Simply remain seated and travel on the Glacier Express to St. Moritz. There you change to the regional train to Celerina.

Option 1: 2 nights in Davos (exclusive option)
