After a fortifying biker's breakfast at Hotel Grischa, you tackle your first stage. The wonderful alpine route leads along the former mule track along the Dischmabach into the valley of the same name to Dürrboden. The Dürrboden inn offers the opportunity for a last refreshment before you tackle the route to the Scalettapass. At the top of the pass, 2606 metres above sea level, you can enjoy your lunch with a breathtaking view of the Val Susauna. The descent on the single trail to Alp Funtauna demands full concentration! From here the route is more leisurely again and leads through the Val Susauna to the Upper Engadine. From the end of the valley you reach S-Chanf, from where it is not far to the Hotel Castell in Zuoz. (36km, 5h20, 1'284m up, 1'016m down)
The next day you can expect a rather leisurely and technically easy tour from Zuoz to Scuol. First you follow the Inn cycle path to Zernez. From here you continue to cycle along the river towards Susch and Lavin. After a short climb, you reach the Schellenursli village of Guarda - an Engadine village straight out of a picture book - before continuing to Ardez with a beautiful mountain panorama. A model village of the Rhaeto-Romanic language with many stately farmhouses and typically painted facades. Only a short climb to Ftan. As a crowning finale, a rapid descent beckons to the Hotel Belvédère in Scuol.
(48,6km, 4h35, 581m up, 1'139m down)
The shuttle bus from the hotel Belvédère takes you to S-Charl: nestled in the rugged mountain world, beyond the wild Clemgia gorge. At first the tour runs flat along the stream bed. Then follows an ascent of approx. 400 metres in altitude to the Cruschettapass. Welcome to South Tyrol! At the foot of the Piz Sesvenna, in the middle of an exceptionally beautiful landscape and very close to the pass summit, lies the Pravierthütte - how about a little refreshment before the rapid descent? Take the alpine path through the Avigna valley to Taufers and on to Glurns. From here the route is relatively flat to Naturns, where a delicious South Tyrolean dinner awaits you at the Hotel Diamant - of course with the right wine from the well-stocked wine cellar. (66km, 6h10, 486m up, 1'765m down)
Your last mountain bike stage starts exceptionally by train. The Vinschgau railway takes you quickly and comfortably to Mals, the starting point of your tour. The start is leisurely, slightly uphill and along a side road to the Schliniger Alm. A little later you reach the Sesvenna Hut. Here the two trails of the Fuorcla Sesvenna and the Schlinigpass come together. We recommend the route over the Schlinigpass into the Val d'Uina. The variant over the Fuorcla Sesvenna is the crunchy version and only suitable for technically strong mountain bikers. For the more leisurely ones, the bike trail over the Reschen Pass is an alternative. Back in Switzerland, relax your muscles in the warming bubble bath of the Bogn Engiadina. Before the Hotel Belvédère treats you to a well-deserved multi-course dinner. (34,5km, 6h, 1'521m up, 1'283m down)
From Fuldera, the path climbs through the beautiful natural mountain landscape of the Val Müstair Biosphere Natural Park to the Costainas Pass. At first a little steeper, the slope is then pleasant. In total, there are about 650 metres of ascent to the pass. The descent is via Alp Astras to S-Charl. You descend to Scuol through the S-Charl valley, a wildly romantic valley on the edge of the Swiss National Park: Welcome back!
