Your Bernese Oberland adventure begins with a relaxing journey to Spiez and the Hotel Eden Spiez. Enjoy the breathtaking view of Lake Thun and the Bernese Alps, unwind in the lovingly tended garden, or treat yourself to a little time out in the wellness area. In the evening, enjoy a multi-course dinner featuring regional ingredients.
After breakfast, you will set off on a picturesque boat trip on Lake Thun, which will take you to Interlaken. Once you arrive in Interlaken, you will continue directly to Harder Kulm. Just a ten-minute drive separates you from a breathtaking panorama of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau mountains and down to Lake Thun and Lake Brienz. If you wish, you can actively extend your day: from Harder Kulm, a wide panoramic trail leads through a pleasantly shaded mountain forest. The trail offers a comprehensive panoramic view of Lake Brienz and Lake Thun, the Bödeli valley between the lakes, and the majestic peaks of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. At first, the trail is rocky but easy to walk on. Those who master the considerable climb to the Hardergrat are then rewarded with a comfortable descent through the idyllic Wanniwald forest back to Harder Kulm. The hike has a pleasantly easy route profile; good hiking boots with grippy soles are recommended to safely enjoy this unique mountain trail. Back in Interlaken, you can choose whether you want to return to Spiez by boat or comfortably by train. In the evening, another culinary highlight from the kitchen of the Hotel Eden Spiez awaits you.
Today, we takae the train to a true natural wonder of the Bernese Oberland: Lauterbrunnen – the valley of 72 waterfalls. Upon arrival, you are greeted by a panorama that you will not soon forget: waterfalls plunge from dizzying heights over steep rock faces and accompany you on your walk through this spectacular valley. The famous waterfalls – such as the 297-meter-high Staubbach Falls or the mighty Trümmelbach Falls inside the mountain – demonstrate the tremendous power of water and have inspired poets such as Goethe.
Afterwards, you will set off on a scenic hike on the so-called Hohstäg from Lauterbrunnen (802 m) to Wengen (1,274 m). This section is part of the classic Bernese Oberland tour, which has been attracting scholars and nature-loving tourists to the Swiss Alps since the 18th century in search of the great outdoors. Even today, this stage has retained its incomparable charm: you hike past rushing waterfalls and green meadows with views of the majestic peaks of the Bernese Alps.
After this impressive hike, you reach the car-free mountain village of Wengen and check into your home for the night, the stylish Beausite Park Hotel & Spa, where you can end the day with a relaxing spa treatment or on the sunny terrace.
Today, a very special highlight of your trip awaits: the excursion to the Jungfraujoch – the “Top of Europe.” From Wengen, you will begin your journey with the legendary Jungfrau Railway into the high alpine world of the Swiss Alps. Through a tunnel deep inside the mountain, the train slowly climbs higher, passing spectacular rock formations and offering ever-widening panoramic views of the surrounding peaks. Once you arrive at the Jungfraujoch – at an impressive 3,454 m above sea level – a unique Alpine landscape of snow, ice, and rock opens up before you: you are standing at the highest railway station in Europe, in the middle of the Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch UNESCO World Heritage Site. From here, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the gigantic Aletsch Glacier, the longest glacier in the Alps, and take in the impressive mountain panorama in all directions. Whether you climb the spectacular Sphinx Terrace, stroll through the fascinating Ice Palace with its artistic ice sculptures, or simply enjoy the moment with a cup of hot chocolate high above the clouds – the Jungfraujoch offers numerous opportunities to make this day an unforgettable experience.
After an eventful day in the high alpine world, you will return to Wengen in the afternoon, where you can end the evening comfortably at the Beausite Park Hotel & Spa.
Start the day refreshed with a hearty breakfast buffet, because today you will lace up your hiking boots again for another unforgettable mountain experience.
From Wengen train station, you will first take the train up to Kleine Scheidegg, the starting point of your impressive hike along the famous Eiger Trail. Even here, a spectacular panorama opens up before you: the mighty Eiger North Face seems close enough to touch, and the world-famous climbing routes to the legendary Eiger summit are clearly visible. The Eiger North Face is still considered a test for the best mountaineers and attracts experts from all over the world. Those who dare can venture to the foot of this imposing rock and ice wall.
The hiking trail takes you over rolling meadows and along mighty rock formations, past the Eiger Glacier (2,320 m). Along the way, you will pass a magnificent waterfall, steep alpine pastures, and scree slopes, always with breathtaking views of the impressive Eiger North Face. Finally, you will reach Alpiglen station (1,614 m), where the Jungfrau Railway from Kleine Scheidegg passes by and takes you comfortably down to the village of Grindelwald. There, you will be warmly welcomed at the Hotel Kirchbühl. In the evening, enjoy a delicious multi-course meal and reflect on your experiences.
Today you have a whole day at your leisure in Grindelwald, the charming mountain village in the heart of the Jungfrau region. Use the time to explore the surrounding area, stroll through the village, or simply enjoy the spectacular view of the Eiger.
Our tip: Grindelwald Glacier Gorge – an impressive work of art created by nature! The 300-meter-high rock faces bear witness to the incredible power of the former Grindelwald Glacier. Although the glacier no longer exists today, the footbridge deep in the gorge offers a unique view into the alpine past. The rushing waters of the Lütschine, the gentle breeze, and the changing light conditions make a visit here an experience for all the senses. The gorge is divided into themes such as geology, glaciers, water, and myths – exciting and educational for all ages. A special highlight is the 170 m² Spiderweb, a walkable net over the gorge that offers thrills and impressive views at the same time.
Those who prefer to be active will find numerous hiking opportunities around Grindelwald: from easy walks through alpine flower meadows to more challenging mountain tours – the region offers the right route for every taste and every level of fitness.
In the evening, return to the Hotel Kirchbühl, where you can end the day in a relaxed atmosphere with culinary delights and the amenities of the hotel.
After eventful days filled with impressive mountain panoramas, sparkling lakes, and unforgettable hikes, your adventure in the Bernese Oberland comes to an end today. After breakfast, you will begin your journey home, taking with you the many impressions, breathtaking nature, and unforgettable moments.
