Day 1: Welcome to Zermatt, stopover in Berne

Begin your Swiss adventure with train journey to Zermatt – on the way, we recommend a visit of the Swiss capital city of Bern

Day 2: Experience the Matterhorn Paradise

After breakfast, take a trip to the Gornergrat – the excursion destination in Zermatt. The cog railway takes you from the village at 1600 metres up to 3100 metres above sea level. Even the journey is a great experience with a constant view of the Matterhorn. You can’t get enough of the panorama at the top – mountains and glaciers as far as the eye can see. It’s worth taking the train right to the top of the Gornergrat first. At 3,100 m altitude you get a splendid view of twenty-nine, 4,000 metre-high peaks from the viewing platform.
For active nature lovers, we recommend a hike to Riffelsee, where the peak of the Matterhorn is reflected in the water and
For animal lovers we recommend to meet the black-nosed sheep: Once the sheep have moved up to the Gornergrat area visitors have the chance to visit them in their natural habitat. Using GPS localisation, you can find the woolly sheep no matter where they are on the mountain.

Day 3: Scenic train ride with the Glacier Express to Davos

After breakfast you get on board of the Glacier Express train: Sit back and enjoy the view of babbling brooks, deep clear lakes, lush green mountain meadows, rock and ice - in the background the mountain peaks, some still powdered white. In the panorama car of the Glacier Express, you meander comfortably over ingenious engineering structures and through numerous tunnels, always in the midst of beautiful natural and cultural landscapes. Some parts of your train journey follows the UNESCO World Heritage route of the Albula

Day 4: Pure nature in the Engadine

After a hearty breakfast with a selection of abundant natural products from the region, you hand in your suitcase at the reception and start weightlessly - with only your day's luggage on your back - into your next Graubünden railway and nature experience.
From Klosters, you travel through the Vereina Tunnel from Prättigau into the Engadine. Rustic, typical Engadine mountain villages adorn the landscape along the track.
You have several options for stop overs:
--> For nature & museum lovers, we recommend a visit of the National Park Centre which is located in Zernez. Learn more about the fauna and flora, the history and the inexhaustible diversity of nature.
--> For active nature lovers: You can experience the National Park and especially its flora and fauna at first hand on a 3-hour round hike into the valley with the most wildlife in the park - the Val Trupchun - our tip! You get there by bus from the trainstation S-chant, Staziun

Day 5: On the Bernina line through the valley "Val Poschiavo" untill Tirano (Italy) and back

Enjoy the best from a Swiss Alpine breakfast buffet in the Engadine
The most spectacular Alpine crossing begins in St. Moritz - on request the hotel offers you a free shuttle service to the train station (if not possible. there are frequent bus/train connections).On the route of the Bernina Express you meander harmoniously past lakes, mountains and glaciers through the Engadine mountains. The roof of the RhB, the Ospizio Bernina, is enthroned at 2253 metres above sea level. Masterly construction engineering and line management give the line its UNESCO character. The circular viaduct at Brusio is clear proof of this.
So many impressions make you hungry. We recommend lunch in the picturesque village centre of Poschiavo. Be sure to choose one of the 13 inns that have signed the "100% Valposchiavo" charter. Here, local products find a very special place on the menu. Labelled dishes guarantee a composition of 100% local raw materials! The classic: fine pizzoccheri and a glass of Valtellina wine! - OR continue to Tirano (Italy) enjoy pizza & pasta and do not forget to watch out for a scoop of Gelati
On the way back, enjoy the view of the unspoilt Alpine panorama once again.
Back in St.Moritz we recommend a stroll through the shopping mile of the alpine town

Day 6: On the Albula line over architectural works of art

After dropping off your luggage and enjoying a hearty breakfast, you board your next railway experience: the Albula line. Here, the red railway overcomes a difference in altitude of 1000 metres, and thanks to the Solis Viaduct, Landwasser Viaduct and the helical tunnels between Bergün and Preda, it does so without a cogwheel. The line has existed since 1903 and thus dates from the time of the railway pioneers. Like the Bernina line, the showpiece of the Albula line is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Be sure to visit the Albula Railway Museum in Bergün and learn about the background of the historic railway line. You can enjoy lunch in the "Büfèt" on original seating furniture from various dining and saloon cars. Take a digestive walk through the picturesque village of Bergün. Afterwards, the last section of the Albula Line awaits you: past Filisur, Tiefencastel and Thusis to the Alpine metropolis of Chur. On this section, the 65-metre high and 136-metre long Landwasser Viaduct delights with its beauty and boldness - one of the most elegant bridge constructions in Graubünden and the most photographed work of art on the Rhaetian Railway. Once you arrive in Chur, another railway highlight awaits you: the Arosa Line. Within an hour, the red train takes you from the city to the mountains. While you stroll past the city wall, the Maltese Tower and the Upper Gate at the beginning, the train meanders through untouched mountain scenery minutes later. The mountain railway seems to float on the Langwieserviadukt over the Plessur. In just one hour you climb 1,000 metres in altitude and reach the Swiss holiday paradise of Arosa.
Breathe in the fresh mountain air on your walk to the Blatter's Arosa - Hotel**** (or call the concierge and ask for a free pick-up service at the trainstation).
Enjoy the deep warmth in the sauna area and let the impressions of this spectacular railway adventure settle as you float in the water. After that you enjoy a delicious dinner in the hotel restaurant.

Day 7: Final stop - have a good journey home!

If you still want to go on an excursion in the mountains, you can of course leave your luggage at the Blatter's Hotel Arosa. During your journey home via Chur, enjoy once again the floating feeling on the Langwieserviadukt and the last panoramic views of the breathtaking Graubünden mountains!
