Welcome to Schluchsee in the natural wildlife park of the southern Black Forest. Here is where sport and leisure possibilities know no bounds. This is especially true for those wanting to discover the Schluchsee region by what some call Shanks’s Pony – otherwise known as your own legs! You’ll find a network of approximately 160 km of outstanding and clearly-indicated hiking trails withing immediate reach of our Auerhahn Wellness Hotel. The team at the Auerhahn will be more than happy to show you the most beautiful views, nature trails and landscapes of this region. For example, familiarise yourself with the Fischbach upper valley, flanked by smooth mountain ranges. In so doing, you’ll discover the diverse flora and fauna of the Fischbach valley and learn lots about the history of your holiday destination – the Black Forest. Relax on a hike without the hustle and bustle. Your hiking guides are familiar with the surroundings and weather, are passionate about walking and know all the best spots. The Schluchsee region is also perfect for bike rides – the rolling landscape offers plenty of variety. Climbs and descents are easily manageable for even occasional riders. A round tour of the Schluchsee (18 km) is a popular choice for a leisurely bike ride offering stunning views of this, the biggest of the Black Forest lakes. Alternatively, you could take an e-bike and, with the touch of a button, determine the level of assistance you require as you need it. For the more advanced looking for harder terrain, you won’t be disappointed either – in the southern Black Forest you’ll find about 1000 km of signposted cycling paths and mountain bike trails.
