Arrival in the Fribourg Pre-Alps

In the land of cheese and chocolate, your e-bike adventure begins in style at the Boutique Hotel Corbetta – your charming retreat in the Fribourg Pre-Alps.

We recommend traveling with your own e-bike. If you arrive by car, your vehicle will be safely parked in the hotel's garage for the duration of your stay (CHF 10 per 24 hours – payable on site).

If you are arriving by train, we will be happy to help you choose the right tickets and make your booking (tickets subject to a surcharge).

In the evening, a delicious dinner awaits you at the hotel – the perfect start to your tour through the world of spicy cheese and fine chocolate.

Stage 1: Sweet and spicy – the gourmet stage through Gruyère

From Les Paccots, cycle to Châtel-Saint-Denis, where you will join Lake Route No. 9. Follow this to Bulle, a classicist town with typical brasseries. From one small town you roll into the next, from Bulle towards Gruyères – with a small detour, but it's worth it: the small town of Gruyères is considered the main attraction of the region. It owes its picturesque townscape and many visitors to its imposing castle and medieval fortress walls, which blend aesthetically into the green slopes and mountain ranges of Moléson and Dent du Chamois. In Pringy, down in the valley, you can watch Gruyère cheese being made at the Maison du Gruyère.

Here, switch to No. 4, the “Alpine Panorama Route,” heading north to Broc, a town that is all about chocolate. At Maison Cailler, immerse yourself in the traditional world of Swiss chocolate artistry, experience the history of the brand up close, and follow the creation of these sweet specialties in the adjoining production facility. From Broc, follow the Saanenland-Freiburg Route 59 via Lac de Montasalvens (just as worth seeing as Lac de la Gruyère) to Charmey. Time to relax in “Les Bains de la Gruyère,” directly connected to the hotel! Afterwards, a fine multi-course dinner awaits you at the Hotel Cailler.

Stage 2: Between peaks, alpine meadows and a natural lake

Fuel up with an extensive breakfast featuring local specialties for your second stage. Today’s ride takes you through the rolling hills of the Gruyère region, past cow pastures where the world-famous raw milk for Gruyère cheese and creamy double cream is produced. Passing charming wooden houses and through the idyllic Grischbach Valley, you pedal steadily uphill. Once on Mittelberg, a breathtaking panorama opens up to the Gastlosen – often called the “Saanenland Dolomites” – and to the green slopes where alpine cheese is produced according to age-old craftsmanship. Just before Gstaad, the landscape widens into the Saanenland: elegant wooden chalets and expansive alpine meadows shape the scenery and give the ride a special alpine charm. From Gstaad you follow the picturesque Louwibach stream to Lauenen. If you like, take a short detour to the tranquil and much-sung Lauenensee (a natural lake) and refresh yourself with a swim in the clear water – a true moment of indulgence in the heart of nature. Finally, you reach Hotel Alpenland, your refuge for the night. In the evening, a delicious multi-course dinner awaits you – awarded 13 GaultMillau points – perfect for rounding off a day full of alpine impressions and culinary highlights in style.

Stage 3: High above the pass and glacier

After a restful night in Lauenen, today you begin your Alpine stage, which takes you meter by meter higher into the world of rock, ice, and wide skies. The road winds gently rather than steeply uphill towards Col du Pillon. At the top, at 1,546 meters, the pass sign proudly displays the altitude – an ideal moment for a short break, a deep breath of clear mountain air, and consciously enjoying the alpine expanse. Just below the pass, we recommend a highlight of the stage: a trip to Glacier 3000. Here you can take the cable car up and experience the spectacular Tissot Peak Walk, a breathtaking suspension bridge between two peaks. The view of the surrounding four-thousand-meter peaks and the vast glacier areas is overwhelming. Please note that tickets for this experience are not included in the package price.

The descent to Les Diablerets rewards you with open valley views and scenic beauty. At The Glacier Hotel, you can relax after the stage, put your feet up, and enjoy the view of the surrounding peaks. In the evening, enjoy a delicious multi-course dinner and let the day come to an end.

Stage 4: The final stage with vineyards, the Rhone Valley, and Lake Geneva

Today, the last and most challenging stage of your pleasure tour awaits you. Starting in Les Diablerets, you will ride over the Col de la Croix, past alpine meadows, pine forests, and the imposing Diablerets mountain range. The road winds through charming villages such as Gryon and Villars-sur-Ollon, always framed by sun-drenched vineyards that nestle elegantly against the mountain slopes. A highlight along the way is the Bex salt cavern, the only salt mine still in operation in Switzerland. The route then descends into the fertile Rhone Valley and continues to Lake Geneva. After the alpine heights, the contrast to the Mediterranean flair of Switzerland now opens up. Enjoy the flat ride along the shores of Lake Geneva. From Montreux, the route climbs slightly again before you reach the idyllic Boutique Hotel Corbetta in Les Paccots. Here you can round off your trip with a good glass of wine. In the evening, enjoy a fine multi-course meal one last time.
