The sunglasses project was realised in collaboration with the Lucerne School of Art and Design. The aim was to create a unique and recognisable accessory for Private Selection Hotels & Tours that creatively combines the areas of design and the hotel industry. Under the direction of Thai Hua, 15 students from the Object Design programme developed unique prototypes using 3D printing to conserve resources.
Around 400 guests and employees of the Private Selection Hotels voted for their favourite glasses in a public vote. The glasses were then scrutinised by a jury of experts. The jury, consisting of influencer and blogger Senzacamedi, Managing Director Urs Niederer from the eyewear shop Götti + Niederer Optik Luzern and Managing Director Esther Dysli from Private Selection Hotels & Tours, chose the model by student Jessica Zwahlen as the winning pair of glasses. The glasses were then produced in March 2025 using a 3D printing process in Switzerland.
We are now proud to present our Private Selection sunglasses. We would like to thank everyone involved for the successful project.
The Private Selection sunglasses are available in the colours blue or black. As this is a unique creation, a limited number has been produced. The glasses were produced in Switzerland in a resource-saving manner.
