Pantelleria is a remote 83km2 small volcanic island off the Sicilian coast and lies between Europe and North Africa. Pantelleria is a "paradise" that only true travellers can appreciate. So nothing touristy, no discos, no deafening party miles, shopping centres or even traffic jams. The Archaeological Park in the capital Pantelleria bears witness to the island's long history. Instead of Prosecco, excellent white wines are tasted - above all Passito - the golden nutmeg wine made from the characteristic Zibibbo grapes. Accommodation is in the typical "Dammuso" - square one-room buildings with a domed roof (to collect rainwater), which found its origin with the Phoenicians and is built of volcanic rock. The freshwater lake "Specchia di Venere" (Mirror of Venus), fed by hot springs, invites you to take a mud bath - natural wellness for free! In Cala Sataria, in the southwest of the island, you can enjoy a natural sauna in the grotto with its white vault of pumice stone amidst the thermal springs, which are known for their therapeutic effects. On the northeast side of the island, you can immerse yourself in two thermal pools in Cala Gadir. 

The stretch of coast where the Pantelleria Dreams Resort is located is famous and for the "Elephant's Arch" (l'Arco dell'Elefante), a fascinating natural arch made of ignimbrite rock in the shape of an elephant, fascinated by the beauty of the Pantelleria sea and unable to resist the temptation to dip its trunk into it. A boat trip is recommended to reach the hidden grottos and beaches. Snorkelling and diving are of course also a pleasure around the island.

Day at leisure - we recommend a visit to the town of Pantelleria and a walk to the caves of Cala Sataria.

Return flight on Tuesday with DAT from Pantelleria to Palermo* at 17.05h - arrival in Palermo at 17.50. Onward flight with Easyjet from Palermo at 19.10h and Basel at 21.25.

Caution: Your luggage will not be checked through on the return flight, you will have to collect it in Palermo and check it in again for Basel!
