Frequently asked questions about your festive holiday offers – FAQ

1. Which festive occasions can I celebrate at the Private Selection Hotels?
Throughout the year – from Easter, Ascension and Whitsun to Swiss National Day on 1 August, and of course Christmas and New Year, plus occasions such as Valentine's Day and Mother's Day. For each occasion, our hotels put together a fitting festive programme.

2. What is included in a festive package?
Depending on the occasion and hotel, a package includes the overnight stay, breakfast or half board, a festive menu, a fitting supporting programme and use of the wellness area. The exact services are listed in detail with each offer.

3. When is the best time to visit, and how far ahead should I book?
Swiss public holidays and long weekends are popular and sell out early, so we recommend booking several weeks to months in advance – especially for Easter, National Day and the Christmas period.

4. How do I reach the hotels, and which airport is closest?
Our Swiss hotels are easily reached via Zurich or Geneva airport (Basel also works for some regions); those in Bavaria and the Black Forest via Munich, Zurich or Basel. Switzerland's rail network is excellent, and many hotels can arrange or advise on a transfer.

5. Is English spoken at the hotels?
Yes. Our hotels regularly welcome international guests, and English is widely spoken at reception and throughout the house.

6. What currency do you use, and how can I pay?
In Switzerland prices are in Swiss francs (CHF); in Bavaria and the Black Forest in euros (EUR). All major credit cards are accepted. Your card serves as a guarantee at booking and is not charged – except for non-refundable rates.

7. What can I expect around Swiss National Day on 1 August?
Many hotels mark the Swiss national holiday with special menus, regional festivities and often fireworks or lakeside celebrations nearby. The programme is shown with the respective offer.

8. Are the hotels suitable for a family holiday break?
Yes. Many houses offer family rooms, children's rates and seasonal activities such as an Easter egg hunt. You will find the details on each hotel page.

9. Are the restaurant and wellness facilities open on public holidays?
Generally yes, often with an extended programme such as a holiday brunch. We recommend booking spa treatments early, as appointments are in high demand over the festive days.

10. What are the payment and cancellation terms for festive-period bookings?
Special terms may apply on peak festive dates; non-refundable rates are charged directly to the credit card. The terms applicable to your booking are shown clearly during the booking process.
