Day 1: Lucerne - The Heart of Switzerland

Day 2: Majestic Mount Pilatus

After breakfast, embark on a scenic boat journey right through Switzerlands founding history from Lucerne to Alpnachstad.
Ascend to Mount Pilatus via the world's steepest cogwheel railway, embracing breathtaking vistas.

Day 4: Appenzell - A Dive into Tradition

with a once in a lifetime breakfast

at 8 am (without breakfast) short transfer from Hotel to Wasserauen to the steepest aerial cableway – Wasserauen – Ebenalp. 15 minutes walk to Aescher Mountain guesthouse(1’471m above seelevel). National Geographic rated this place in its book “Destinations of Lifetime” as the most beautiful place at all. You have your table with a view reserved for breakfast.
After Breakfast – short walk back to the cable car which will bring you down again – and ride by train to Appenzell.
Appenzell is the most traditional town in Switzerland and, with a population of around 7,000, is the political, economic and cultural center of the smallest Swiss canton, Appenzell Innerrhoden. In the car-free town center, the pretty alleyways with their numerous small stores entice visitors to stroll and shop. The houses, richly decorated with paintings, are characteristic. The Appenzell Museum in the town hall shows a cross-section of history and culture. Appenzell lives the most direct democracy possible - on the Landsgemeindeplatz, all the people still vote on all the canton's business by raising their hands.
Your tour through Appenzell will be self-guided – with our map and some information – with the highlight – an Apéro (one glass of whitewine) with a special hot cheese-bread (Appezöller Chäsflade) at the typical bakery & restaurant Drei Könige.
To get back to the hotel, you can either take the train (just a few minutes ride) or – what we suggest – a 1h walk along the stream Sitter. Please take your time to enjoy the fabulous new SPA in midst the wonderful nature!
Tonight enjoy a traditional Appenzeller night with an elegant and rich buffet of specialties out of Käthi Fässler’s rewarded cuisine – and life Appenzeller music and Yodel.
