ARRIVAL BY CAR
Coming from Stuttgart, Ulm or Munich, take the A7 motorway to the Allgäu junction. Here, keep going in the direction of Oberstdorf on the B980 and B19 federal roads. About seven kilometres before Oberstdorf, you will reach the town of Fischen. At the second set of traffic lights, turn right towards Balderschwang/Riedbergpass. After 16 kilometres, the HUBERTUS Mountain Refugio Allgäu awaits you as the first large yellow house on the right-hand side.
Coming from Switzerland, Austria or Lake Constance, keep in the direction of Dornbirn. Take the Dornbrin Nord exit, then at the roundabout take the second exit onto the B 200. Go through the tunnel (watch out for the radar right at the tunnel exit) to Alberschwende, Hittisau. From Hittisau, drive about another twelve kilometres and you will find the HUBERTUS Mountain Refugio Allgäu at the end of Balderschwang. The large, yellow house is opposite the church.
In winter, Frau Holle blesses the village of Balderschwang with lots of snow. If you are travelling from the north, we recommend a short diversions if the weather is suitable. This is how you reach the HUBERTUS Mountain Refugio without snow chains and crossing the pass: Coming from the motorway junction Allgäu, keep to the direction of Oberstaufen in Immenstadt and continue via Hittisau to Balderschwang. The hotel team will be happy to inform you about the current weather conditions and the best route by telephone before your arrival.
