No doubt about it: In the Engadine you are always on the right track! With the "Cross-country Safari Engadin" you will explore the paradise of silver tracks for 5 days - 4 nights - and you will walk weightlessly from hotel to hotel, because your luggage will be delivered as a matter of course. Our program suggestion:

1st day: Arrival at the Cresta Palace Hotel

Welcome to St. Moritz/Celerina! The Cresta Palace is located in the middle of the village of Celerina and is easily accessible by public transport as well as by car. If you arrive by car, you can leave it free of charge in the outdoor car park for the 5 days (extra charge for garage space: CHF 20.-/day). Have you brought your own cross-country skiing equipment - or would you like to be professionally equipped for the duration of your stay? The Celerina cross-country ski school is only a few minutes' walk away and will be happy to rent you professional cross-country skis. There you can get the best equipment, prepare your skis or simply adjust them. The Celerina cross-country skiing school will be happy to help you in word and deed. If you decide on a different sports shop, you are welcome to ask at the hotel. They know all the ski and sports shops in the area. After your first taste of snow, enjoy the hotel infrastructure of the Cresta Palace Hotel - and look forward to a dinner in the stylish hotel restaurant.

2nd day: Gliding over the Engadine lake plateau

Had a good night's sleep? After breakfast from the buffet with many fine specialities, you set off on the first stage of your cross-country safari - not without first depositing your luggage at the reception for its transfer to the Hotel Saratz.

What do your muscles say - do you fancy an extensively sporty tour, or would you prefer a gentle one? You have the choice: for the longer option (3h30) take bus no. 2 or 6, which leaves directly in front of the hotel, to Sils Maria, Seglias. Here you take trail 1, the world-famous Engadin Marathon cross-country skiing trail. This takes you over snow and ice. You glide over the Silvaplaner and Champfersee lakes to St. Moritz, past the St.Moritzersee lake to the fairytale Stazersee lake. Here you can linger over a cup of tea in the lakeside restaurant before setting off on the final stretch to Pontresina.
For the shorter version (1h40), we recommend starting at the bus stop St. Moritz Bad, Sonne (bus no. 6. from Celerina). You won't be gliding over the Engadine lakes here, but the dreamlike Stazerwald will make your winter heart beat just as fast.

The Hotel Saratz****S in Pontresina is already waiting with a welcome drink. Enjoy the magnificent view of the Roseg valley as well as the soothing hamam - and let yourself be pampered by the 4-course gourmet dinner from the award-winning kitchen - served in the historic Art Nouveau hall.

3rd day: From Pontresina to Zuoz

Today's route takes you gently along the plain for a good 16 km - the paradisiacal silver tracks of the marathon route always lead you along the young Inn River to the Zuoz train station. Please inform your hosts at the Hotel Castell****S in Zuoz of your arrival at Zuoz railway station in good time by calling 081-851 52 53, so that you can be picked up by the hotel bus.

Enjoy the best view over the whole valley from your comfortable room! Welcome back to the wonderful hotel world between art, nature, cuisine and wellbeing.

4th day: Cross-country skiing in Val Bever

After a quiet and restful night in your comfortable room, you will have fortified yourself at the rich breakfast buffet and set off on the last leg of your cross-country safari. Please hand in your luggage at the reception so that it can be transported for you to Celerina to the Cresta Palace Hotel.

The red train will take you comfortably to Samedan, where you change to the train in the direction of Chur, which will take you to Spinas (attention: stop on request). In the immediate vicinity of the station you will reach the cross-country ski trail (classic and skating). This meanders along the route of the Rhaetian Railway from Spinas, slightly descending to Bever in the Val Bever in Graubünden. Along the way you can enjoy the fascinating fairytale scenery of the surrounding peaks of the Bernina Group and the beautiful Val Bever.
In the lower village of Bever you will find a connection to the marathon trail. Approx. 500 m after the railway subway, a classic cross-country trail branches off to the right and leads via the airfield to Celerina. This route takes a total of approx. 2 hours.

5th Day: Departure - goodbye!

After the already familiar rich breakfast from the buffet, you may already be on your way home. But if you still have some time, we recommend you take the free ski bus directly in front of the hotel and spend another day on cross-country skis. Experience the vastness of the Upper Engadine high valley from a unique perspective on the unique lake trail. Where else in the world do you cross 3 frozen lakes on perfectly groomed tracks?
